Wellington Pacers, Leeds: Your Thursday Lunchtime Run Crew

Community 💛Lunchtime 🍴River 💦

In the middle of the working week, when the city hums and screens glow, a run crew gathers by the glass façades of Wellington Place to trade desks for daylight. This is Wellington Pacers Leeds – a lunchtime run club for the Wellington Place workers.

Every Thursday at 12:15pm, runners meet outside Wellington Central (LS1 4AP) for a social 5km loop around Leeds’ canal paths and streets. It’s free, friendly, and guided by qualified run leaders from Running Seeds, making it ideal for anyone – from first-time joggers to regular runners craving a reason to lace up at lunch.

The route winds past the River Aire, along leafy towpaths and beneath the modern skyline of Wellington Place.

What makes the Pacers stand out is the atmosphere: energising yet unhurried, inclusive yet personal. The perfect way to break up the work day. As one participant puts it on Instagram: “The perfect Thursday pick-me-up – fresh air, friendly faces, and back to work buzzing.”

Supported by Wellington Place and the Running Seeds team, the Pacers are part of a wider wellbeing movement that encourages people to step outside and connect with the city around them.

If you work nearby, it’s the easiest “yes” of your work week. Just bring your trainers, sign up via RunTogether, and show up. The Pacers will handle the rest – pace, positivity, and a varied run route.
