Some run clubs start with pace charts and training plans. Queen Square Run Club started with a simple idea back in 2019:
“Let’s meet in Queen Square, go for a chatty 5K, and grab a drink afterwards.”
That after-work Monday loop around the Harbourside quickly became a ritual – and then a movement. Fast-forward to today and Bristol’s Queen Square Run Club has grown into one of the city’s most welcoming running communities: zero pressure, all paces, all backgrounds, all vibes.
Every Monday at 6pm, the crew gathers by the statue in Queen Square. Everyone from first-timers to marathoners roll out for the club’s signature 5km Harbourside loop. It’s steady, social and regrouped so nobody runs alone. Post-run drinks a given. Queen Square Run Club takes real pride in supporting local cafés, pubs and indie spots, making every run double up as a little boost to Bristol’s independent businesses.
For early risers and sweet toothes, Queen Square also meet on Fridays at 7:30am for a twist on the original Monday meet ups. Same 5km loop, but this one ends with coffee and doughnuts – what a way to see in the start of the weekend!
