Haxby Runners is a friendly, community-driven running club based just outside York. Born as a virtual group during the first lockdown, it quickly grew into something much bigger – a supportive club with hundreds of members, regular runs, and a strong social spirit.
Running schedule:
The club brings people together for weekly runs and training sessions, offering a range of options for all abilities – from beginners stepping into running, to those chasing new PBs. Their approach is simple: running for both physical and mental health, with a focus on community and inclusion. As one member & Joy Runner told us:
“It’s an amazing club – super inclusive, with lots of different run options each week, including step-into-running programmes. We even hosted our first 10K, which sold out completely.”
Haxby Runners also rallies around causes, raising funds for both local and national charities through social runs. Members regularly enter races and events together, living out their “stronger together” ethos on start lines across the region.
The club is open to everyone for motivation and support. There’s no charge to try out a run – you’re welcome to come along, see if it’s for you, and socialise because Haxby Runners believe in the power of running for boosting physical and mental health.
