Run Dem Crew: A Feel-Good Run Club Sparking Change

Community 💛Good deeds 🦸Mental health 💚

Run Dem Crew (RDC) was born in 2007, when Charlie Dark – a DJ, poet and youth mentor – decided that running London’s streets should be something more than circuits and silences. He imagined a movement where pace meets purpose, music meets motion, and community matters just as much as miles.

Today, Run Dem Crew is a feel-good collective of hundreds of runners, creatives, and coffee-chasers who gather every Tuesday at Spitalfields Market for a soul-nourishing 5km run. True to the spirit that running together is double the fun and a must for mental health, they believe speed isn’t everything. As Run Dem Crew puts it, “We are not a running club and we do not jog—first and foremost we are family and a community who run hard, run fast and run strong.”

Run Dem Crew runs through London’s streets with swagger and something for everyone. The pace groups (Tortoises, Hares, Cheetahs, Elites) reflect all levels and you’ll find all your fellow runners are rooting for you.

They also give back, through the “Youngers” initiative (six-week pop-up programme engaging young people with sport and mentorship), global run-crew events (“Bridge The Gap”) and creative projects that stretch far beyond the track.

If you’re looking for a new running family that craves connection as much as the workout, Run Dem Crew are the crew for you.
