Leeds Rhinos Run Club: From Fans to Finishers

Community 💛High energy ⚡

Want to take your love of Leeds Rhinos a few steps further?

Every Wednesday at 6:30pm, the Leeds Rhinos Foundation throws open the gates of AMT Headingley Stadium and a community of runners heads out from the South Stand for an easy-going 5km.

It’s free, it’s weekly, and it’s built for everyone – absolute beginners through to seasoned racers – with a calm, conversational pace and leaders who keep the group together. After the run, people stick around for a drink and a chat back at the stadium.

The club launched with FORDY RUNS Running Club to make midweek miles more inclusive for Leeds: no fees, no pressure to hit splits, just a standing invite to move, meet, and feel good. Sessions are explicitly “all abilities welcome,” and you only need suitable footwear and a smile.

What sets this run apart is the natural bridge into Run with the Rhinos – the Foundation’s long-running (pun intended) fundraising team at the Run For All Leeds 10K each June. In 2025, more than 100 runners wore the Rhinos vest to raise money for the Foundation’s projects that “change lives through the power of sport.” If a goal helps you show up, this one comes with community, coaching, and a great cause.

There’s real Rhinos DNA here too: the Foundation is the official charity of Leeds Rhinos, a long-time partner of Run For All events and the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon/Half. That means your casual Wednesday 5K sits inside a bigger story of sport, city pride, and accessible wellbeing — from social jogs to major-race start lines.
